A Paula sempre gostou de ler e aproveita todo o tempo disponível para fazê-lo como, por exemplo, uma viagem de metro. Fotografei-a num desses momentos, quando íamos ambas numa carruagem de regresso a casa. Embora se considere mais leitora de romances — nomeadamente de romances históricos como os de Philippa Gregory — naquele fim de dia a Paula ia entretida com "O Fio do Destino", um livro de memórias onde a jornalista Laura Schroff conta a história da sua amizade com o pequeno Maurice. Quanto ao livro da sua vida, apontou sem hesitação "Fernão Capelo Gaivota", que leu quando era mais nova e cuja vertente espiritual a marcou muito.

Paula always enjoyed reading and she uses all of her
free time to do it, for example, on a subway ride. I took her picture in one of
those moments, when we both were on a carriage going back home. Although she
thinks of herself as a reader of novels - mainly historical novels like the
ones of Philippa Gregory – at the end of that day Paula was entertained with
"Invisible Thread", a book of memories where the reporter Laura
Schroff tells the story of her friendship with little Maurice. As for the book
of her life, she named without hesitating “Jonathan Livingston Seagull", a
book she read when she was younger and which spiritual side touched her deeply.
