José Eduardo, Camilo & Aquilino

Não me esqueço do olhar surpreendido do José Eduardo, do interesse com que ouviu a minha proposta e da prontidão com que a aceitou. Foi uma das últimas fotografias que tirei na biblioteca e é uma das que mais gosto. O José Eduardo lia "O Romance de Camilo", escrito por Aquilino Ribeiro, reunindo assim, num só volume, dois dos seus autores favoritos. Para este leitor assíduo, a Biblioteca Municipal Almeida Garrett foi das coisas mais bonitas que o Porto 2001 - Capital Europeia da Cultura trouxe à cidade e sublinha que aquilo que o encanta naquele espaço é a total liberdade para manusear os livros (opinião que partilho e sobre a qual escrevi aqui). Só lamenta não poder ir até lá mais vezes.

I can't forget the surprised look of José Eduardo, how interested he listened to my proposal and the readiness he accepted it. It was one of the last pictures I took at the library and it is one of the photos I like the best. José Eduardo was reading "O Romance de Camilo", written by Aquilino Ribeiro, joining together, in a single volume, two of is favorite authors. To this frequent reader, the Almeida Garrett Municipal Library was one of the prettiest things that Porto 2011 — European Capital of Culture brought to the city and stresses that what enchants him the most in that space is the total freedom to handle the books (an opinion that I also share and wrote about here). He only regrets the fact that he can't go there more often.
