Luísa & João Tordo

A Luísa, professora de profissão, gosta de ir à baixa do Porto, aos sábados, para tomar um café. Naquele início de tarde, encontrei-a no Piolho onde lia um pouco antes de regressar a casa e retomar a correção de uns testes. Pousado sobre a mesa estava o livro "As Três Vidas", o seu primeiro romance de João Tordo. Embora estivesse muito no início, a Luísa já estava a gostar do pouco que tinha lido e dizia estar confiante quanto ao resto do romance porque este lhe tinha sido recomendado por uma colega com quem tem grandes afinidades literárias. Surpreendida pela minha proposta e pelo objetivo do Acordo Fotográfico, a Luísa revelou-me que na escola onde lecciona já tinham tentado fazer algo semelhante: volta e meia um professor apanhava um miúdo a ler algures no recinto, fotografava-o e colocava a imagem no blogue da escola. A intenção, claro está, era a melhor: incentivar os alunos a ler. Mas sem uma autorização dos pais para publicar as fotografias online estavam a correr grandes riscos. A ideia teve, por isso, de ser abandonada.

Luísa, a teacher, likes to go to Porto downtown on Saturdays to grab a cup of coffee. In the beginning of that afternoon, I found her at Piolho where she read a little before returning home and going back to the correction of tests. Laying down on the table was the book, "As Três Vidas", her first novel of João Tordo. Although she was at the very beginning, Luísa was already enjoying the few she had read and she said she was confident about the rest of the novel because a colleague with whom she has literary affinities had recommended it. Surprised by my proposal and by the purpose of Acordo Fotográfico, Luísa revealed to me that at the school where she teaches something similar was tried: sometimes a teacher would caught a kid reading in the school grounds, took his picture and published it on the school blog. Of course, they had the best of the intentions: to encourage students to read. But without the parents consent to publish the pictures online they were taking great risks. So, because of that, the idea had to be abandoned.
