Uma leitora, três livrosOne reader, three books

Surgiu no Passeio dos Clérigos uma loja pop up que estará aberta ao público até ao próximo dia 23 de dezembro. Passei por lá numa das minhas horas de almoço, durante a semana, e a novidade levou-me a entrar. No interior, vários lojistas expõem principalmente produtos portugueses e o objetivo é, claro, levar os portuenses a comprar por lá os seus presentes de Natal. Foi aí que conheci a Sara, responsável pelo pequeno stand onde se vendem peças de lã com um design muito original. Num momento em que não havia clientes, a Sara decidiu ocupar-se com um livro. "Não sou capaz de estar sem fazer nada, por isso aproveito para ler, que é o que mais me relaxa e dá prazer", afirmou.  Diz, aliás, não compreender como há pessoas que não são capazes de ler e lamenta conhecer gente que nunca leu um livro na vida. Talvez a avidez da Sara compense estes casos; leitora habitual, nunca sai de casa sem livros. Quando conversámos, tinha consigo dois volumes: nas mãos, "O Assassinato de Roger Ackroyd", de Agatha Christie, uma autora que é das suas favoritas dentro do género policial; em cima da mesa, "O Método Simples Para Deixar de Fumar". "Não fumo há três dias", confessou sorrindo. E no carro estava, ainda, um livro com contos de Gabriel Garcia Máquez, o seu autor preferido.

A pop up store appeared at Passeio dos Clérigos and it will remain open until the next December 23rd. I walked by in one of my lunch hours, during the week, and the novelty lead me to come in. Inside, several storeowners exhibit mainly Portuguese products and the goal is, obviously, to encourage people from Porto to buy there their Christmas presents. There I met Sara, in charge of the small stand where wool pieces with a very original design were sold. At the time there were no customers, so Sara decided to entertain herself with a book. "I cant stand not having something to do, so I take the time to read, which is what relax me the most and also what gives me more pleasure", she stated. She also claims that she doesn't understand how some people are not able to read at all and regrets she knows people who have never read a book in their entire life. Maybe Sara eagerness makes up for these cases; a usual reader, she never leaves home without books. When we talked, she had with her two volumes: in her hand, “The Murder of Roger Ackroid”, from Agatha Christie, one of her favorite authors within the crime style; on the table, "Allen Carr's Easy Way To Stop Smoking". “I haven’t been smoking for three days, now”, she confessed while smiling. And in the car there was also a book of short stories from Gabriel García Márquez, her favorite author.
